Wildlife management in Colorado strives for a balance that benefits public, private and wildlife interests that is proven to be an important part of Colorado’s heritage to all citizens and visitors to our state.
The hunting and fishing license fee system is the primary method of financing wildlife management, protecting the habitat and open spaces of Colorado and ensuring the continued stewardship role of overseeing the places in which the wildlife lives. 
Hunting and fishing are necessary tools in wildlife management for maintaining healthy and diverse populations of wildlife.
To educate the general public about the benefits of wildlife, wildlife management and wildlife-related recreation opportunities in Colorado, specifically hunting and fishing, by designing, implementing and managing a comprehensive media-based public education campaign
